At Home Labor Support

We encourage families to take advantage of our at home labor support. Many families express the desire to labor at home for as long as possible before going to the hospital. When the doula labors with her at home, mom feels comforted having an experienced birth professional there, one who has given birth herself as well, and with that support she is able to stay at home longer. With the help of a doula at home during labor, moms and partners can establish a comfortable rhythm for coping with labor that they can then easily transfer to the hospital when it is time to go.

Empowerment

A mother who feels empowered by her birth experience, whether that means she had the actual birth of her dreams or not, will likely carry that experience with her into the challenging new frontier of motherhood. It will get her started with a strong and centered view of herself as a mother. When she is able to make her choices in birth from a non-fear based, informed and supported place, she feels empowered by her decisions and actions.

That is our goal as your doula, to provide the support you need to be in a place of empowerment as you labor and birth and move forward into the journey of parenthood.
